Mission · Datum
Datum’s mission is to take the paperwork off the people who build everything. It exists so a construction company can run on one record it trusts, and the people it hired to build can spend their days building.
Where it comes from
Datum is built by two people: one who has run heavy-civil projects for years, and one who builds the software. Every system a contractor buys fixes one department and opens a seam with the next, and somebody’s evening goes to retyping numbers so two screens agree. Datum is built so the people closest to the work are never asked to do it twice, and nothing ships until it survives a real job.
The rules we build by
- We never show you a number we can’t back. Every figure comes from a record you can open; when Datum doesn’t know, it shows a dash, not a zero.
- AI suggests. A person decides. Every AI output is a draft with an override, and it asks instead of guessing.
- Entered once, by the person closest to the work. Nobody retypes a quantity between the field, the office and the cost report.
- Your data is yours, and only yours: isolated per company, enforced in the database, never used to train a vendor’s model, exported or deleted on request.
- Nothing on the screen pretends. A control that isn’t wired yet says so, and a failed load says it failed.
- Every system-generated flag says where it came from.
Who it is for
Companies whose work is measured in stations, quantities and crew-days: highway and bridge builders, grading and excavation, underground utilities, and the estimators, project managers, safety staff and accountants who back them from the office.
